Lidl, Burger King or Raceplanet?

The plan was to get a Part-Time job after being one year here in the Netherlands. So far having money wasn't an big issue, with what squeezing and sacrifices I could get round in a month with the money I have. Right the situation ain't that bad either, but some extra income is welcome.

With the buying of my car comes a lot of extra monthly costs, with my current budget I could live with it pretty well. Buying everything I can at Lidl (cheapest supermarket chain I know), and when going out, always eating the King Deal Special for Burger King (2euro's for a whole meal man!).

I really liked that King Deal thing, very clever marketing from BK. Once I ate like 3 in one weekend, the price vs quantity equation is so good I just can't neglect it. Compared to Mc Donald's for example, you'll have to pay like 4euro's for the same thing, so I advise everyone who can to try it. And no, I don't have shares in BK (yet).

Well, I've started looking for a job for the next months. The choices are, Lidl, BK, and Race Planet. Lidl, because its just 500m from where I live, and they are currently in need of more workers. But its sooooo low class for me, the people are weird, its kind of a bit messy, I just wouldn't like to work there. But I like the shopping, they are cheap, and I like cheap things!!! :P

Not that BK is a lot higher on the class ladder, but its better anyway. The BK restaurant I'm talking about is on the highway between Delft and Rotterdam,  and is only reachable by car. Its not that busy like the other Centrum BK's, so I wont have to work that hard. And also I can have another reason why I bought the car, since there are some people still wondering why the hell I need a car for...

The third option is Race Planet. Its a race themed small recreation center. The main attraction is the indoor karting, where I've spent allot of adrinaline filled time on. They also have bowling alleys and a game room, and off course a bar/restaurant. This is more something for me, I'm a car and race freak, so I'll surely feel at home here. Today I'm gonna send my Solicitation-Form, I really hope they take me in! I'll keep you guys updated when I get more info ;)

Got my Ride!

At 7am in the morning today, i woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. That has been happening the last 2 days. Its always like that when big things are going to happen on that day or the next one. Today it was the day I had bought my first car!

This is my brand new (in 1988) Daihatsu Charade. A peppy little car I immediately loved from the first rev it made two days ago when we went to test it. Its a 1000cc TS model, a gasoline sipper, which is ideal in these times of economic crisis!

Anyway, we went to pick it up today, put it on my name at the post office, got the keys and hit the road. We went to The Hague (Den Haag) to give it a good wash, which it needed kinda. That car wash did cost me like 1/20 of the value of the car itself. But it was worth it.

And off course I/we took allot of pictures to show you, my readers what I actually am talking about. Anyways, if you live in Holland in the cities mentioned to the right were I usualy am the most, just leave a comment or make a call, and I'll come visit you (just because I wanna ride it over and over! but I don't have anywhere to go!). Put the tea and biscuits ready, and the rest, enjoy the pics. Laterz

   At Home
Cameramen, more focus on the car plz!
Sunroof! Ready for the Summer!
PS: I will be enjoying the car as long it lasts, didnt pay allot for it, so I cant expect allot either in the reliability department. But so far everything is fine, so, lets just hope that stays like that for a few months.

Finally Got The Pink!

What was I doing in "downtown" Delft today? There are 2 reasons. I went to buy a some tools to try to get our sink un-clogged... (they say it was my Afro hair that got it clogged, cant argue with them).

But thats not the reason why I'm posting right now, I finally got my Drivers License!! I went to the "gemeente", took long, had to wait for like 30 minutes... But now I can get on public roads without any worries. If you didn't know, I currently have like 3 years of driving experience, and that is without any incidents!

Talking about incidents, I think I'm more dangerous on a bike than in a car... It was a rainy afternoon in delft, the road was very slippery and I was late for my meeting! Well, all i can say: sorry Mr. Audi Owner. It wasn't really a big crash or something, it left no marks behind but if i was the owner of that car I wouldn't like what happened...

But I'm so happy I finally got it. It did cost me a fortune this dutch drivers license!! Had like 20 lessons from December to April. Actually it can be worse, like 40 lessons which is "normal" around here. Thats 40 X 40 = 1600 Euros!! Thats 2 cars man! (in my budget range)

I actually could have made it with less lessons, but we all know about those instructors fooling us, telling us were not safe yet for the road. Well, I was actually safer than I should be during the examination. It felt like I was just giving the Lady a ride around, was very chill the examination.
When driving with my instructors I was even more nervous than with the examinator(examinatrice in this case).

PS: If you look closely at the picture above, you can see that I have a new Haircut!! Gone is the Afro, it was to much to handle. Now, at least there is no more evidence for the clogged sink...

The Beginning

What?
You may have arrived trough one of the lot of links I've posted on the Digital World (Internet) announcing my blog. What are you actually expecting from this blog? Well I quess you may have come here to get to know what is currently on my mind, what is happening in my life. Maybe you came here just to say: yeah I've read your blog!. Oooorrr maybe your here just to get a glimpse of the latest gossip about whats going on in my private life, yes, you outsider, I know your there... But anyway, Welcome to Living Life Lively. Well..., that was a rare introduction, but don't worry folks, with the course of time there should be more friendly posts around here.

Why?
What is the reason behind this blog? Well I was just riding on my bike in Downtown Delft and the idea just flashed into my mind. The last couple of months (years) there has been allot going on in my life. It would be a really good thing to share all those beautiful moments, and yeah, also those less beautiful ones... I will be posting from now on some interesting things(in my opinion then...) every now and then. Hope it will make you wanna come back for more.

Who?
Actually that is the first thing I should have done. But your not here for formally correct text's and stuff right? My name is Edion, born on the beautiful island of Curacao 18 summers ago. Currently I'm studying Technische Bestuurskunde at the Technical University of Delft which is in, no, not in Rotterdam unfortunately... but Delft. That was enough personal information for now. If you liked it, stay tuned and you'll get more. ;)
